The compact Škoda Elroq electric SUV is here

The compact Škoda Elroq electric SUV is hereŠkoda is starting a new chapter in affordable eMobility with the Škoda Elroq. It is the embodiment of Škoda’s Modern Solid design language, featuring the new Tech-Deck Face radiator grille, for example, which is a minimalist evolution of the traditional Škoda grille, or the Škoda lettering, which replaces the original round logo on the bonnet or steering wheel.

There will be three battery capacities (55, 63, and 82 kWh) and a total of four versions of the model: the Elroq 50 with the smallest battery and a 125 kW electric motor, the Elroq 60 with the medium-capacity battery and 150 kW, and two versions with the largest battery. The Elroq 85 will have rear-wheel drive like the smaller battery variants but deliver an output of 210 kW, with an all-wheel drive variant of the Elroq 85x arriving in 2025.

These most powerful versions also boast a top range of over 560 kilometres per charge and a top speed of 180 km/h. Other versions will go a maximum of 160 km/h and have a range of over 400 km (Elroq 60) or over 370 km (Elroq 50) on a single charge. All in WLTP mode, of course. The charging capacity is also excellent, with a maximum of 175 kW, so the version with the largest battery can be recharged from 10% to 80% of capacity in just 28 minutes. The Elroq 60 and Elroq 50 models have maximum charging capacities of 165 and 145 kW respectively, and charge from 10% to 80% in less than 24 minutes (50) and less than 25 minutes (60).

One factor helping the new Škoda compact electric SUV to achieve its long range is its refined aerodynamics, with a cd drag coefficient of just 0.26. In addition to the new Tech-Deck Face mask, the Elroq also brings a redesign of the “four-eyes” headlight graphics. This time they have a horizontal layout, always use LED technology (optionally advanced LED Matrix) and have a modern flat, almost two-dimensional, look.

With the exclusive introductory First Edition, LED Matrix headlights will come as standard, and its special feature will be the Light Band that connects the two headlight clusters above the bonnet. Later, this feature will be available as an option on other trims.

Inside, the Škoda Elroq has gone for a minimalist look combined with sustainable materials. A wide array of interior finishes will be available. The basic Studio trim level offers a design with an emphasis on black and fabric upholstery, while in the Loft version the anthracite grey upholstery is accented with Moss Green stitching and the seats are finished in a combination of leatherette and dark blue RecyTitan fabric. RecyTitan contains 78% recycled PET and 6% fibres from recycled clothing.

The Elroq will also be available in Sportline trim, which adds a distinctive interior design with carbon-look detailing to the lowered chassis (15 mm at the front and 10 mm at the rear) and typical black exterior details. At the front there are sports seats with integrated headrests, upholstery in Suedia material and grey stitching.

The luggage compartment can take 470 litres of cargo (the most in the Elroq’s class), and up to 1,580 litres can fit in when the seats are folded down. The Elroq also boasts loads of room for the occupants, both longitudinally and laterally and even overhead. The interior is full of practical details and several storage compartments with a total capacity of 48 litres. One of the Simply Clever innovations is a handy charging cable holder under the boot lid.

The Elroq offers cutting-edge on-board electronics, dominated by a 13-inch infotainment display with a new user interface. Needless to say, there is a wide range of assistance systems and connectivity features, but there are also standout new features, such as the Laura voice assistant with a link to ChatGPT and the option of Remote Parking via the MyŠkoda app. Options for remote control of vehicle charging are also available. The new Škoda wallbox, which can be ordered with the Elroq, includes a special mode for homes with their own solar panels.
