Electrify Expo 2024 – BMW, Porsche, NAXEON & Much More

Electrify Expo 2024 has hit seven major US cities and will hit its eighth and final, location, Austin, TX in November. The Expo features new electric vehicles from established premium brands like BMW and Porsche, as well as up-and-coming micromobility companies like Jackrabbit and P-51 – and it introduces a surprising new e-moto that won this year’s Red Dot motorcycle design award, the NAXEON I AM.

I hit the Expo this past August in San Francisco and got a chance to check out all the offerings. This year’s show in the Bay Area was set up a little like an IKEA store, so you ended up seeing everything. It was a little bit of a maze to get to the electric scooters, but along the way, I got a look at some of the show’s major highlights, including the BMW CE 02, the P-51 Bullet, the Porsche Taycan Turbo S, and the Tesla-like NAXEON e-moto.

Were there scooters? Of course there were scooters. Major brands NIU and GOTRAX brought their lineups, Alien Rides showed up with some big guns, and we got to hang out with the 2Swift Board and the Jackrabbit OG2. But first, I got to check out some pretty sweet rides I’d never seen up close before. Click each link below to skip to my Electrify preview.

The BMW CE 02 goes for $8500 for its Highline package, which requires an M1 motorcycle license to ride. It’s got a top speed of around 55 mph and BMW estimates that its 4Kw battery will give you anywhere between 25 and 35 miles of range in average city riding conditions.

I’m a lifelong motorcyclist, I raced motorcycles for years, and I can tell just by sitting on this bike that it’s all the things you expect from a real motorcycle. I like that it’s plated and legit because you won’t have to worry about your multi-thousand dollar ride getting taken away by police. You just can’t ride it on the freeway.

So, the Porsche Taycan is pretty much my dream car. If I could have any car in the world right now, it would be this one. I’ve got a 7-year-old and a 10-year-old, so I like the four-doors, and it’s got space in the back and the inside is indeed a very nice place to be.

This car is very fast and very expensive, and I want one.

Okay, yes, you’ve all been waiting to see the Tesla of electric motorcycles, as they’re calling it. It’s got a boost button, up to 110 miles of range, and can hit 72 mph (get your M1 license first). And it’s got a crazy amount of tech, including a back-up camera and a party mode light show that you can sync up to your favorite song.

Electrify Expo 2024 is almost over, and it has already had a major impact nationwide. As Electrify News writes, “the key to widespread EV adoption isn’t in sustainability mandates but in showing people how fun and practical these vehicles can be.” Usually, all it takes is one ride.
